Play Aloud Samuel Lucas

Play Aloud Samuel Lucas provides a before and after-school club for children aged 4-11 who attend Samuel Lucas Primary School. Our club is based in the spacious hall and lovely playgrounds and playing fields of Samuel Lucas School. A healthy breakfast is provided to those who want it. The breakfast club opens at 7.30, and families may book any start time that suits, subject to a 45min minimum booking time. Many different free-choice play opportunities are offered to children during the morning session. Children are then escorted to their classrooms when school opens. At the end of the school day, our Play Leaders collect children from their classrooms and escort them to Play Aloud for the after-school club. At the after-school club we offer a nurturing and stimulating environment following a child-led childcare approach, with activities and resources offered to suit all ages. We also make use of our own outdoor area and the school playgrounds and fields. Play Aloud is open until 6.30pm.

Families may book the After-School session end time that suits, subject to a 1.5hr minimum booking time. hall. Healthy snacks and hot, freshly cooked evening meals are available every day, prepared in the school kitchens by our own on-site chef. Meaning you don’t need to do cook as soon as you get in from work, you can enjoy your evening with your children. Play Aloud Samuel Lucas was graded Good by Ofsted in all areas of provision. Play Aloud Samuel Lucas is a term-time only provision, but children may attend the holiday clubs offered by Play Aloud St Andrew’s or Play Aloud Pirton; Some of the Play Aloud Samuel Lucas staff work at each of the other settings during school holidays, so children will know some of the Play Leaders.
